Who can use Diskan

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live — in some countries that is 16. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, you may not use Diskan. One account per person; do not share it, and do not create an account to impersonate someone else.

The ground rules

Diskan puts you in contact with strangers who happen to be nearby. That only works if everyone can count on the same rules. When using the app you agree not to send, share, or broadcast:

• Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, or intimidation of any kind.
• Hate speech, or content attacking people over race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
• Sexually explicit content, nudity, or any sexual content involving minors — the latter is reported to the authorities without exception.
• Content encouraging self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or dangerous acts.
• Spam, scams, phishing, chain messages, or unsolicited advertising.
• Impersonation of another person, or misrepresenting your identity or affiliation.
• Anything illegal where you or the recipient live, and anything that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Other people’s private information — addresses, phone numbers, documents — without their consent.

You are responsible for everything you send. You keep ownership of your messages; you grant us only the limited permission needed to store and deliver them to the person you sent them to.

Blocking, reporting, and enforcement

Every screen that shows another person also offers Block and Report.

• Blocking takes effect immediately and works both ways: neither of you can find or message the other, and any existing conversation disappears from both inboxes. The person you block is not told. You can undo it from Settings at any time.
• Reporting sends us the reason you picked and anything you chose to write. You can report someone you have a conversation with, once per person.
• Automatic suspension. If three different people you have talked to report you, your access to chat is suspended automatically. You keep the rest of the app.
• Appeals. A suspended account can appeal once, in-app, and a human reviews it. If we got it wrong, the suspension is lifted.

We may also suspend or terminate an account directly for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, and we may do so without notice where someone is at risk. Nothing here obliges us to monitor conversations, and we do not.

Your messages stay between the two of you

Conversations on Diskan are strictly one-to-one. We do not read them, and a report does not send us their contents — reports are reviewed as a pattern of behaviour across distinct reporters, not as a transcript. Only what you type into the report form reaches us. See the Privacy Policy for what the app collects and why.

Location

While you are broadcasting, Diskan shares an approximate location so people nearby can find you. Your exact position never leaves your device: it is snapped to a coarse grid on the phone, at a precision you choose, before anything is sent. Broadcasting stops when you pause playback, turn sharing off, or sign out.

Subscriptions and payment

Starting a new conversation requires a subscription. Replying to someone who messaged you first is always free, so no one is ever walled in without a way to answer.

• Subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play, which is the merchant of record. We never see or store your payment details.
• Recurring plans renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel at any time in the Google Play app under Payments & subscriptions; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. A prepaid week pass simply expires and does not renew.
• Introductory pricing, where offered, applies to the first billing period only, after which the standard price applies. Play shows you the exact price before you confirm.
• Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play’s refund policy, and — where you live in the EU — without prejudice to your statutory withdrawal rights.
• Prices may change. We will tell you before a change affects a renewal, and you can cancel rather than accept it.

Deleting your Diskan account does not cancel a Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play first, or it keeps billing.

Third-party services

Diskan reads what is playing from your device’s own media controls, and can link to a music account so the right track opens when someone shares one. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. Diskan is not endorsed by or affiliated with Spotify, Google, or any music service.

Ending your account

You can leave at any time. Deleting your account from Settings removes your profile, presence, and messages — including the copy held by the people you talked to, because a conversation on Diskan is only ever between two people. It cannot be undone. See Deleting your account for the steps and for how to request deletion if you no longer have the app.

The app is provided as it is

Diskan is provided “as is”, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anyone you meet through it will behave well. Use your judgement with strangers. Do not share your home address, financial details, or documents, and meet in public if you meet at all. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the conduct of other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and where the change is significant the app will ask you to accept the new version before you continue.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your own country and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
