Delete your account

You can delete your Diskan account yourself, from inside the app, in about ten seconds. It is immediate and it cannot be undone. This page explains exactly what goes, what to do first, and how to request deletion if you no longer have the app installed.
In the app
- Open Diskan and go to the YOU tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Read what will be removed, then type DELETE to confirm.
- Tap Delete my account. You are signed out immediately.
What gets deleted
Everything attached to your account goes at once:
- Your account and profile — email address, display name, handle, avatar, and settings.
- Your messages — every conversation, including the copy held by the person you talked to. A conversation on Diskan is only ever between two people, so there is no shared history to preserve for anyone else.
- Your presence— you disappear from other people’s maps and feeds straight away, not after a delay.
- Your safety records — the blocks you placed, the blocks placed on you, reports you filed, reports filed about you, and any appeal.
- Any linked music account and your subscription record on our side.
We keep nothing tied to you afterwards — no shadow profile, no tombstone, no retained copy of your conversations. Residual copies inside encrypted database backups are rotated out within 30 days.
If you no longer have the app
Email gauthier.lamarque@protonmail.com from the address on the account, with the subject Account deletion. Sending from that address is how we confirm the request is yours — we will not delete an account on the word of a different address, because that would let anyone delete yours.
We action requests within 30 days and reply to confirm when it is done. If reinstalling is easier, doing it in the app is instant.
Just want a break?
Deletion is not the only option, and it is the only irreversible one. Turning sharing off in the app stops broadcasting entirely: you vanish from Discover and the map, and nobody can see what you are playing. Your account and conversations stay put for whenever you come back. If one specific person is the problem, blocking them is instant, silent, and reversible.
